Random Reflections - A Brief Update

So. Here we are. 2005. As we spiraled towards the end of 2004, I didn't know if we would all still be around to see another year. Tsunamis, wars, elections, wars about elections...the list goes on.

Yet, here we are.

Christmas was rather uneventful. It was our family's first Christmas without my grandfather. Fortunately, we managed to get through it without any breakdowns or extended mourning sessions - only positive reflections helped keep our holiday festive and happy. The day after Christmas, I made my way to midtown Atlanta to see Sarah perform her stand-up routine. It was very funny, especially the bits about Calhoun...which was pretty much the whole act. ;)

New Year's was even more interesting. Let's just say that it involved lots of tequila and whiskey, 80's/90's "hair" bands, and body piercings. And we'll just leave it at that.

Any resolutions? Me either. Although I do promise to keep up with the diet program. I lost 37 pounds in 3 months, and I only put back on a few of those during the holidays. If I get back into it and keep it up, I'll finally be able to wear those Speedos this summer. WHOA NELLY!

The next evening, I went back to the metro area to see Finding Neverland with Thomas and Nikki. What an incredibly good movie! It is definitely one of the best films I have seen from 2004.

Last night, I had the first round of auditions for Bedroom Farce, which I will be directing. I'm a little nervous as this is the first show I've directed since 1999. I think it will be a good show, but I don't know if the Calhoun Little Theater is ready for my line of thinking just yet. This will be the test trial. If this show works like I hope it does, then I will probably have some pull around the Arts Center. Then, my diabolical plan will be set in motion to rule this town! MUAH HA HA HA HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

But first, I need a nap.
