A great big THANK YOU to everyone who came out for my birthday. I had a great time, and I hope you did too. A very special thanks to those who brought gifts. You didn't have to...but since you did, *SMOOCH*! :)
I don't really feel older yet, but I'm sure it's coming. It's strange reflecting on the past decade. During the first half of my 20's, I remember thinking, "I hope this never ends." It was life at Georgia State, turning 21, making great friends, partying my ass off...some of the greatest times of my life (so far).
Then, during the last half of my 20's, I remember thinking, "Is this ever going to end?" It was life in the corporate world, George W., Sept. 11, downsizing, layoffs and unemployment. It all culminated to my moving back to Calhoun. After 2 years, I'm still not thrilled with being here. That's mainly because I miss seeing all my good friends on a more regular basis. But I feel that this is where I need to be. At this point in my life, this is where I need to be.
And that's a good thing.
On a lighter note, it's time for Labor Day weekend again! That means it's Con Time!!! Even though I think Dragon*Con will be really good this year, I haven't gotten in "the mood" yet. There's a certain mindset one has to get themselves into before tackling the 4-day event, and I just can't seem to get into it. I'm definitely ready to rock, but I'm also dreading the long hours, stinky fan-boys, and the extremely sore feet. I guess that's all part of the experience.
Of course, when B Sweat arrives...it's on.
It's on like Diddy Kong.
